Australian Computer Society - MODL specialisations
For General Skilled Migration visa applications lodged on or before 7 February 2010, there are several IT specialisations that attract additional bonus points for any points-tested skilled permanent visas. This is known as the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL).
The specialisations are:
• CISSP
• C++/C#/C
• Data Warehousing
• Java
• J2EE
• Firewall/Network/Internet Security
• DotNet
• Oracle
• PeopleSoft
• SAP
• Siebel
• Solaris
• Unix
• Linux
In order to be assessed for MODL points, the ACS expects you to have at least 12 months of professional full time work experience in any one of the specialisations listed above.
The 12 months' experience must be within the last 4 years.
Documentary evidence to support this must be submitted together with your skills assessment application to the ACS.
With certain limited exceptions, all General Skilled Migration visa applications lodged on or after 8 February 2010 will no longer have access to MODL bonus points.
