Arlington Legal is a law firm based in Sydney.
Peter is the Principal Solicitor at Arlington Legal. He is a lawyer admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and is on the register of practitioners of the High Court of Australia. His legal qualifications include a Diploma in Law awarded by the Legal Profession Admission Board of New South Wales, where he graduated as the most distinguished law student, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
Peter is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Sydney Law School, where he has been teaching substantive law subjects in the Bachelor of Laws and Juris Doctor programs since 2015. He is also a Teaching Fellow at the Faculty of Law and Justice of the University of New South Wales. Peter is extremely grateful for the ongoing opportunities at these universities that allow him to contribute and give back to the legal profession and legal education.
Besides his legal qualifications, Peter holds a bachelor's degree in engineering, specialising in electrical engineering, and he was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Interestingly, Peter co-authored a technical paper which was presented at the Internet Society's 1996 conference in Montréal, Canada.
Peter was a registered migration agent from 2004 until the Migration Amendment (Regulation of Migration Agents) Act 2020 (Cth) commenced in 2021, removing all Australian lawyers with unrestricted practising certificates from the migration agents registration scheme and giving Australian lawyers the right to provide immigration assistance without needing to be registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority. Prior to becoming a migration agent, Peter worked in the information technology industry as a professional programmer, analyst, consultant and project manager at global firms like PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting and IBM Business Consulting Services with industrial knowledge in the internet, banking/finance and warehouse/supply chain domains.
